Membership Benefits
As a financial cooperative El Futuro Credit Union exists to serve you. Because you are the owner of the credit union, our rates on loans will always be amongst the lowest. You will be provided free or discounted services, while we’ll strive to offer you the highest earnings. In addition, we will provide you up to date information and counseling to assure you are well informed on management of your personal finances. We are also committed to providing you the resources and education to reach your financial goals.We understand the financial demands everyday life puts on families. This is why we make available to our members the products and services they need to meet the financial obligations faced by them and their families. By offering an alternative to banks and other financial providers, you have access to a different kind of financial institution - one that is truly committed to helping people.
Who's eligible to join?
If you live, work or worship in the Porterville area, you are eligible for membership at El Futuro. A $25 minimum deposit and a one time membership fee of $5 is all you need to start enjoying the benefit of being part of our cooperative.
1. Complete the application (including signature).
How to join the credit union2. Mail application to El Futuro Credit Union with a copy of your photo ID and a check for $30. You may also bring it into our office. The following are accepted forms of ID: a.) Valid Drivers License, b.) Passport, c.) Matricula, and d.) Residency Card. (We will send you notification once your account is opened.)
Matricula ConsularIf you work, live or worship within our field of membership you may start a membership with the El Futuro Credit Union using a Matricula Consular de Alta Seguridad. This form of the Matricula identification card, issued after April 17, 2002 by the Consulate General of Mexico, will be honored as sufficient identification to open a membership if it carries the bearer's current address. If the address is not current another form of proof of residency will be required.
With the MCAS Matricula Card, a savings account may be established that provides the following services: check-cashing, money orders, travelers checks, wires, ATM, and cashier's checks.
