Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program

We are currently in the process of organizing our first Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. The program is run by volunteers and provides assistance to low income communities with the preparation of their income tax declaration. Of particular interest is the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), which is the second largest benefit program offered by the Federal Government. Eligible individuals can qualify for up to $4,000 through the program. We are hopeful that the community will come out to support this valuable program. We are seeking volunteers to assist with the program. You will be trained and certified through the IRS. Also, we're in need of small computer desks, lap tops, office supplies and the assistance of an IT person. We are also soliciting monetary support.
